Il sentiero dei nidi di ragno is the first novel by Italian writer and resistance fighter Italo Calvino, published in 1947. The book is a coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of the Second World War, in a small town on the Ligurian coast.

This project reimagines Calvino’s novel as an illustrated newspaper, introducing an additional narrative layer through images. Each chapter opens with a full-page illustration alluding to the key events, while smaller illustrations are distributed throughout the text, creating pauses and breathing space within the reading experience. The digital black and white illustrations echo the sobriety of the editorial design and reinforce the project’s narrative clarity.
